Guy Schnitzler is deeply committed to continuous learning, growth, and training across a range of specialized, multi-disciplinary fields. With nearly four decades of service spanning local, state, and federal levels, Guy knows that effective training is the foundation of safety and recognizes the critical need for continuous, realistic training, and self-protection. 

Following a decade of a patrol with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and service in the North Carolina National Guard (Infantry), he recently retired as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. Throughout his career as a Field Training Officer and Adjunct Instructor, Guy has championed the need for current, real-world training. Today, he translates that lifetime of experience into actionable skills for his students, ensuring trainee is prepared for the challenges of today's environment. 

To ensure the highest quality instruction, Guy consistently hones his own skills by training with expert instructors in the safety and security industry. Beyond personal development, he actively hosts and collaborates classes with nationally and recognized instructors, including Cecil Burch of Immediate Action Combative, Paul Sharp of Sharp Defense, and Jerry Wetzl of Redzone Knife Defense. 

Guy's commitment allows DFW Defensive Training to offer premier defensive training that is both accessible and affordable. The mission is to equip everyone - whether they are new to defensive training or seeking to continue training at a higher, more specialized level - with the skills and confidence they need.
